While half of America is celebrating the new President Elect, others have opted for an alternative celebration.

An event called the “Peace Ball” was held last night at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C.

The Peace Ball acted as an alternative celebration to the various festivities occurring today with the inauguration of President-Elect Donald Trump.

It was essentially a non-biased, inaugural gala held to honor, celebrate, and recognize the accomplishments of former President Barack Obama over the past eight years.

This event was hosted by the Bush Boys, Poets and headlining this event was Solange Knowles (@saintrecords) introduced by Angela Davis.

Watch this clip of Solange performing songs from her album “A Seat at the Table” here:

This event was pretty diverse with guest appearances made by revolutionary Angela Davis, writer Alice Walker, actor Danny Glover, actresses Fran Drescher and Ellen Page, and much more.

I’ve never seen a first family look this good.

We’ll really miss you guys!!!
