The African American Museum in Philadelphia presents: Keepers of the Culture – LADIES FIRST: STORIES OF COMMUNITY ACTIVISTS

This is a part of the African American Museum’s summer long celebration of PhilAesthetic: the Black Arts Movement.

Join Philadelphia-based educational organization Keepers of the Culture for this special in-community presentation. Recognizing the role of the storyteller in African and African American communities, Keepers of the Culture will engage its Griots in collective community empowerment through the art of storytelling. Ladies First will recount the contributions of Sade Alexander, Louise Williams Bishop, Joan Myers Brown, and Falaka Fattah, four distinctive community builders, who provided the context for our political cultural leadership, told in their own words through dramatic monologues by master storytellers.” Source
